Inconceivable¹!!! Like many of our English [and even French] words we tend to bring them up in conversations that have nothing to do with the word itself. Sometimes people use the word in a sentence and through antiquity or other means we adopt it as our own. Like:

Beg The Question: Really means, a form of logical fallacy in which an argument is assumed to be true without evidence other than the argument itself.

Example would be “I think he is unattractive because he is ugly.” The adjective “ugly” does not explain why the subject is “unattractive” — they virtually amount to the same subjective meaning, and the proof is merely a restatement of the premise. The sentence has begged the question.

Could Care Less: Implies that you are currently caring more.

Literally: Quite obviously. But not figurative.

Irregardless: There’s “irrespective,” and there’s “regardless,” but there’s no such thing as “irregardless.”

But the best thing about our English language is . . . . It really doesn’t matter much. If you make up a word and it sticks, it’s now part of the English language.

The word Upset used to have only one meaning until the year 1919. This is the year when an underdog house named Upset beat the previously undefeated horse Man o’ War. Since that date in time whenever anyone came from behind and won a victory over a person, horse, dog, The Patriots, etc. we call this an Upset. And that is The Gospel of that story!

Researching Jewish dietary restriction the other day I found a couple of interesting facts.¹ One being some Kosher (Kashurt) foods are foods that are never mixed with certain other foods.Which gave Latte Day Saints a wonderful opportunity to write this Blogtoon. I have heard the Mormon analogy of milk before meat. Meaning: You must get through the “soft” things of Mormonism before you can start to deal with the harsher or “Hard” substance of Mormonism.

Once a Missionary placed some harder truths before me during a “Milk” lesson. I believe I handled the Non-Kosher teachings very well. His companion didn’t look too thrilled during the process though.

1. The other interesting fact being the children of Israel were Bedouin. If shrimp was transported from the ocean to where they were living, in the middle of the desert, there would be no way of keeping it fresh and much of the population would perished from eating spoiled seafood. This may have been Gods reason for them not to consume Shellfish. [↩]
