In an article from The Salt Lake Tribune dated 06/10/2008 and titled “Mormon and Black: Grappling with a racist past”.  I read the story of a new bride in The Salt Lake City Temple. There was an elderly man who saw Tamu Smith, the new bride, and asked aloud:

. . .  what a Ni**er was doing there.

But instead of chastise this man the Temple workers defended him, saying he didn’t know better.

This was fifteen years after the June 8th Revelation mind you, in the very same Temple where that Revelation came out of.

Now, I don’t believe every word that come from within the church but I believe that there are some really great people that attend. Just as I believe that there are some really great and good people that don’t attend.

I was sitting in Gospel Doctrine when thoughts of Noah’s Arc came to mind. If Africans were denied the Priesthood and access to Temples for being inferior, then why where Black People allowed on the Ark?

The other day I was stacking my food storage¹. I put the things we use the most on top , trying to put the lite things on the very top.

Well first I have to give you a back story about me. Whenever I am thinking about doing something dangerous I think about how it would look as a News Paper Headline. If it seems like a stupid Head Line I stop what I am doing.²

Now back to the story. I thought how it would look on a Headline. Then I thought.

I wonder if you get a free ticket to the Celestials for being crushed to death by food store.

I know it has happened and it is not a funny matter. I was thinking if, through your faith and diligence to do the good the Church asks you to do, would your reward be this magnificent?

Sometimes I feel I’ve obtained all these Eternal Blessings but at dinner time I end up with the thigh. Don’t get me wrong I like thigh meat. Most  sometimes I want the biggest lamb chop or the juicy piece of steak which I hardly ever get. I am the primary cook of the family and I end up being the last one to  eat.

Does anyone feel the same way I do? At least sometimes?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints issued a stoppage to the practice of Polygamy in 1890. At that time the current Prophet was a practicing polygamist and continued to practice until his death while hiding in exile from a government issued. Some say the practice didn
